Ancaster native Eshe returns to Hamilton for Harem Vol. 6.

Belly dancer Eshe returns to Hamilton’s Casbah

Internationally known belly dancer and Ancaster native Eshe returns to Hamilton for Harem Vol. 6.

The Tuesday, Sept. 9 show takes place at the Casbah, 306 King St. W., 8 p.m. Along with Eshe — who is known only by her stage name — the event features shimmying from Joharah Kolishenco of BellyUp BellyDance Studio, Jackie Pullar of Wild Orchid Bellydance, BellyFlow Fitness dancers and Kala Séraphin.

An award-winning professional belly dancer who grew up in Ancaster, Eshe now calls South Korea home and has her own studio in Seoul.  She has been belly dancing since 2002 and has trained extensively in Canada, Japan, Egypt, and Turkey.

Over the course of her travels, Eshe has performed for crowds of thousands at music festivals and at small restaurant gatherings.

“I’m grateful for any opportunity to share the art of belly dance,” she told Hamilton Community News. “I think one of the reasons I’ve had some success is because I try to love each and every audience. They all have different gifts to give the performer.”
