A 56-year-old Hamilton man is charged with assault causing bodily harm and threatening death following a loud disturbance at an apartment unit on Barlake Avenue.

Police spokesperson Catherine Martin said an officer responding to a call about the fracas at about 5 p.m. on Dec. 22 heard someone inside the apartment yelling for help and found a man lying on the floor in one of the bedrooms.

The man was sent to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The officer arrested the accused, who was also in the apartment.
