Congratulations to Ancaster Community Services’ 51 new babysitters.
A graduation ceremony was held at the Old Town Hall for all 51 students who successfully graduated from the ACS babysitting course. During the two week-long babysitting course, students aged 11-plus, were taught by professionals about fire safety, water safety, personal safety, child/infant care and first aid.
ACS runs the babysitting course every summer, so students can learn about becoming responsible and knowledgeable babysitters. The babysitting course is just one of many programs offered by ACS; others include meals on wheels, volunteer driving, home support, counselling and referral and the Youth Employment Service.
ACS thanks everyone who helped make this year’s babysitting course possible with special thanks to Fieldcote Memorial Park and Museum, the Ancaster Public Library, Councillor Lloyd Ferguson, and a professional speakers from the fire and police departments, Lynwood Hall and lifeguard Alicia Poot.
