Police on hunt for targeted Stoney Creek home invaders

Stoney Creek News

Hamilton police are on the lookout for three men following a violent home invasion in Stoney Creek on Aug. 12.

Const. Debbie McGreal-Dinning said the men – two of whom were believed to be carrying handguns – entered a home on Gray Road through an unlocked door at about 11 a.m. and assaulted a 48-year-old lone female resident, when she wouldn’t give them cash.

The men tore two necklaces from her neck and one of them struck her with the butt of a handgun, knocking her unconscious. The woman was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

After rummaging through the home, the men left with the necklaces.

All three are described as white and between 25 and 30 years old.

The first suspect is about six foot, skinny and has brown eyes. He was sporting a black nylon mask and baseball hat.

The second is five foot eight to five foot nine with brown eyes and short brown hair. He wasn't wearing a mask.

And the third suspect is five foot 10 and was possibly wearing a mask.

McGreal-Dinning said police believe it was a targeted incident and continue to investigate.
