A 59-year-old Stoney Creek man faces a drunk-driving charge after he blew more than three times the legal booze limit on Aug. 5.
Const. Debbie McGreal-Dinning said Hamilton police were alerted to a suspected impaired driver in the area of Cherrywood Drive at about 7 p.m.
An officer stopped the vehicle and could smell alcohol on the driver’s breath. The driver was given a roadside breath test and failed.
He was arrested and taken to the police station, where he blew over three times the legal booze limit in breathalyzer tests.
Released on a promise to appear in court, he is charged with driving with more than 80mg alcohol per 100ml of blood.
