Matt Sehl’s success on the race track continued Saturday night with two first-place finishes in the Canadian Dirt Track National Race at Welland County Speedway.
Matt swept the intermediate division with wins in the open and 450cc racing classes.
Matt was just four years old the first time he climbed atop his dad’s motorbike and went for a spin.
“It really gets your heart pumping,” he said. “It’s a rush, you could say, just how much fun it is.”
The 16-year-old Ancaster High student has been flat track racing on and off ever since.
Flat track racing provides one of the most thrilling spectacles in motor sports. Riders finesse their motorcycles through the turns just inches apart at speeds of over 100 m.p.h.
