Police arrest impaired driver in Dundas after improper turn

Stoney Creek News

An improper right turn led police to an impaired driving arrest on July 17 in Dundas.

Just after midnight, an officer observed a box truck leaving the area of Governors Road at Osler Drive in Dundas.  The vehicle turned right on a red light, which is contrary to the posted signage. The officer located the vehicle travelling on Wilson Street East towards Ancaster.

A traffic stop was attempted and after a brief delay the vehicle finally stopped just west of Lower Lions Club Road. The officer approached the driver and observed signs of impairment.  Marijuana and other drug paraphernalia were also seen.

The driver was taken to a police station for a breath test and blew over the legal limit.  A 47-year-old Flamborough man was arrested and charged with impaired driving, driving over the legal alcohol limit (over 80) and marijuana possession.

He was released on a promise to appear in court.
