Stoney Creek News

Police are seeking the public's help to identify a suspect who stole $11,000 in cash from a Ride to Conquer Cancer charity event.

On Saturday, the charity was holding a banquet dinner at the Sheraton Hotel at 116 King St. W. During the event, a cash box containing approximately $11,000 was stolen from the event organizers. Video surveillance captured the suspect red-handed, exiting the building with the cash box in his hands.

The male suspect is described as white, 40-45 years of age, with short blonde or grey hair, wearing an orange polo shirt over a white t-shirt, dark jeans, brown running shoes, sunglasses, and wearing a cell phone on his hip.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Hamilton police, criminal investigation division, at 905-546-3818 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
