Braves best at GHAC track meet

The St. Jean de Brebeuf Braves have repeated as GHAC track and field champs and won their eighth straight Catholic high school track and field championship.

The central Mountain high school led all teams with 768 points at the Golden Horseshoe Athletic Conference meet, held Wednesday and Thursday at Mohawk Sports Park.

Hamilton winners at the two-day event were:

Molly Giannone, St. Mary’s, midget girls 400m and 300m hurdles.

Maddy Carrigan, Bishop Tonnos, midget girls shot put and javelin.

Shelby Amponsah, St. Jean de Brebeuf, midget girls discus.

Savannah Simpson, Bishop Tonnos, senior girls 100m and 200m.

Taysia Radoslav, Cardinal Newman, senior girls 400m and 400m hurdles.

Meagan Rice, St. Mary’s, senior girls long jump.

Cassidy Noonan, St. Jean de Brebeuf, senior girls shot put.

Nicole Vespa, St. Jean de Brebeuf, girls 100m ambulatory

Michael Chris-Ike, St. Thomas More, midget boys 100m and 200m.
