Dundas’ Mark Jankowski scored back-to-back game winning goals for the Providence Friars NCAA hockey team to surpass his scoring totals from last season.

Playing his sophomore year with the Friars, and making the transition back to centre after playing his freshman year on the wing, the first round draft pick of the NHL’s Calgary Flames has 11 goals and nine assists to sit third in scoring on his team this season.

Jankowski scored the game winning goal in a 4-3 win over the University of Massachusetts on Friday, Feb. 21; and again the next night in a 2-1 win over the same team.

His 20 points in 32 regular season games this season topped the 18 points he scored in 34 games last year.

The 19-year-old, who turns 20 in September, is one of the youngest players on Providence. He joined the NCAA Division 1 team directly out of a Quebec high school, with no junior hockey experience.
