Nominations are being accepted for the City of Hamilton’s 19th annual Senior of the Year awards. The deadline is March 31.
The Senior of the Year awards program recognizes senior citizens residing in Hamilton who have made outstanding voluntary contributions to enriching the social, cultural or civic life of our community.
There are nine award categories: Senior of the Year (provided by the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration), Lifetime Achievement, Innovation, Behind the Scenes, Diversity and Cultural, Leadership, Compassion and Companionship, Economic Leadership, and Healthy and Active Living.
A gala event to celebrate the achievements of the nominees and award recipients will take place June 24 at Michelangelo Events and Conference Centre, 1555 Upper Ottawa St. Tickets will be available starting mid-March at a cost of $20 per person.
