Tyke Blues hang tough

Dundas Star News

The Ironkids Tyke Blues traveled to the St. Thomas Tyke Classic tournament last weekend.

Although the Tykes played hard, the competition was fierce.  The Blues started the weekend with a tough 4-3 loss to the St. Thomas Junior Stars.  The Blues opened up the scoring in the first period but the Junior Stars came back hungry in the second period scoring three unanswered goals.  The Blues regained their focus in the final period coming within one goal but the clock ran out before they could tie it up.

On Saturday, the Blues regained their momentum by securing a 3-2 victory over Ilderton. This victory placed the Blues in the Tyke B semi-final against Clarington where they finished the tournament with a loss.  Goal scorers for the weekend included Bryce Sinclair, Sam Tanner and Christopher Ptaszek with helpers going to Christopher Cheeseman, Ptaszek, Ryan Spenler, Sinclair and Aidan Parise.  Player of the game(s) recognition went to Matthew Livesey, Bryce Sinclair and Aidan Parise.
