Female clerk hurt in east Mountain robbery attempt

Dundas Star News

Hamilton police are investigating an attempted robbery on the east Mountain that sent a female clerk to hospital with a non-life-threatening head injury.

Const. Debbie McGreal-Dinning said the clerk was in the back room of a business near the corner of Upper Ottawa Street and Rymal Road at about 11 a.m. on Feb. 12 when she heard someone trying to open her cash register.

She walked out to confront the thief, who pushed her aside as he fled, causing her to fall and hit her head.

The male suspect is described as white, in his twenties and about five feet 11 inches tall with a thin build. He was clean shaven and wore a black hooded jacket and dark blue jeans.
