Neighbour to Neighbour food drive rolls into Mountain Metro next week

Helping keep the shelves stocked at the Neighbour to Neighbour Centre food bank will be as easy as a trip to the Metro grocery store at Upper James and Mohawk next Tuesday (Dec. 11).
Centre operations manager Sara Collyer said Ward 7 councillor Scott Duvall’s office and city transit officials have arranged for an HSR bus to be at the Metro from 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. to accept food donations.
“Ten thousand pounds is our goal to raise that day,” said Collyer.
The food bank is in need of all food items including baby formula, canned fruit, canned meat and poultry, pasta, juice and beans.
The west Mountain food bank serves about 1,300 Mountain and Ancaster households each month.
