Martin retiring as HHS chief next year

Ancaster News

Hamilton Health Sciences will have a new president and chief executive officer in 2013.

It was announced this morning that Murray Martin will retire as HHS president and CEO when his contract expires at the end of December next year.

Martin joined HHS in 2001 after 10 years as president and CEO of Vancouver Hospital and Health Sciences Centre.

His original contract expired in 2009 but the HHS board asked him to stay on for four more years.

Martin will remain with the organization as an advisor for one year following his retirement.

HHS will begin a national search for a replacement next spring.
