Buying fruit at a grocery store is one way to get delicious products, but it’s definitely not the only way. Most supermarkets claim they have the freshest fruits; but can you really get fresher than picking your own?
Puddicombe Estate Farms & Winery understands that the best food comes directly from the earth to the basket. It is a family-owned, 213 year old fruit farm that offers 300 acres to pick from.
Puddicombe has a long history in wine making, with the first vineyard planted in the 1940’s and a partnership formed with wine master Jim Warren and Stoney Ridge Winery. Through its rich history and constant growth and evolution, today on the Puddicombe Estate there’s a retail wine shop with estate-grown products always in stock.
Puddicombe hosts a wine club as a great way to try different selections of wine right to your door, along with many other benefits. There are also wine tours available.
The property is also perfect for field trips/school tours, birthday parties, and there’s a Caboose B&B, café, a country store and banquet room on site.
With the fall brings more fun including Apple-Lee Fun Weekends (live music, pick-your-own apples, fresh bakes desserts and more), Halloween Ho-Down (live entertainment, train rides, trick or treat on the farm, Halloween crafts), and a Country Wine, Cider & Harvest Festival.
Take part in the group campfires in the afternoon or evening with a warm drink, blankets, campfire and even a wagon ride to snuggle up to your loved ones!
It doesn’t end there for family fun. There’s a children’s play village, and also a farm animal display and train rides also from May to October. The Polar Express Christmas Train rides are a special treat too!
With all these offerings, it’s no wonder that Puddicombe Estate has won a Platinum Readers’ Choice award for best pick your own! The estate prides itself on excellent quality and selection, and it shows through the smiles of everyone who visits.
