YMCAs in Hamilton, Burlington, Waterdown and Brantford are celebrating Family Day on Monday with community open houses.
The branches will be open free of charge to the public from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with activities for families.
In Hamilton, the Les Chater Family YMCA at 356 Rymal Rd. East, is offering a family Latin funk fitness class from 9:15 to 10 a.m. and family Yogafit from 10:30 to 11:30. Both classes are suitable for all ages. A family group cycling class at 9:15 a.m. is suitable for families with children ages 13 and older. There will also be basketball in the gym from 12 to 4:30 p.m.
Kindergym will be offered from 10:15 to 11:30 a.m. and families can also do crafts in the community room from 9:15 a.m. to noon. For parents interested in working out, child care is available from 9 to 11 a.m.  The small pool at the Les Chater Y will be open all day, while the large pool is open for swimming from 8 to 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a family Aquafit class from 9:15 to 10 a.m.
