Westfield presents drama at dusk

A very rare and unusual little book called Minnie Trail was donated in 2003 to the collection at Westfield Heritage Village. Minnie Trail  was written by W.P. Wood of Ancaster and published by the Hamilton Evening Times in 1871.

The story is a quintessentially Victorian, melodramatic, crazy tale that is the inspiration for an evening of food, music and theatre, Friday July 11,  6 p.m.

An adaptation of the play has been written by Westfield historical interpreter Rose Usenica, with live musical accompaniment.

The evening is being presented in partnership with The Friends of Westfield, the organization that raises funds for museum. Members will prepare a Victorian-style boxed picnic supper for guests. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling 529-621-8851.
