Support Hamilton Conservation Foundation’s EcoPark campaign at Dundas Cactus Festival

The Hamilton Conservation Foundation and Sorensen Greenhouses of California will help put the “cactus” back into the Cactus Festival by providing the opportunity for baby cacti to once again acquire good homes.

During Cactus Festival weekend, Aug. 1t-17, festival-goers will be able to adopt a baby cacti at the Hamilton Conservation Foundation booth.  Suggested minimum donation of $2 will go to the Dundas EcoPark campaign for the remediation of the Veldhuis site adjacent to the Desjardins Canal.

For the second year, Cleome Sorensen (formerly Veldhuis) has donaed baby cacti to campaign. Sorensen grew up at the former greenhouse site with her parents and siblings, so her donation of the baby cacti is a direct link to the Ben Veldhuis Greenhouse and the origin of Dundas as the Cactus Capital.
