Babysitting course graduates show off their diplomas during a graduation ceremony at the Ancaster Library’s Murray Ferguson Room.

Students graduate from Ancaster Community Services babysitting courses

Ancaster has 56 new babysitters thanks to Ancaster Community Services. During two week-long summer babysitting sessions, students aged 11-plus were taught by professionals about fire safety, water safety, personal safety, child/infant care and first aid.

The course is just one of many programs offered by ACS. Other programs include Meals on Wheels, assisted volunteer driving, home support, counselling and referral, the food bank and the Youth Employment Service.

ACS would like to thank everyone who helped make this year’s babysitting course possibile, including Ancaster Public Library, Councillor Lloyd Ferguson, Camille Dehghan and professional speakers from the fire and police departments, Lynwood Hall and lifeguard Alicia Poot.
