Showing her true colours

Dressed in red and white and holding a hand-crafted Olympic torch, Isabella Brearley, 104, shows her support for Canadian athletes competing at the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Isabella is the oldest resident at The Meadows long-term care centre in Ancaster. For the next two weeks, residents will be competing in their own version of the Olympics, complete with opening and closing ceremonies, medal presentations and competition in bowling, hockey, bean bag toss and beach ball kick. Two Ancaster athletes are competing in Russia — snowboarder Brad Martin and Laura Fortino, a member of the Canadian women’s hockey team.
