The Hamilton Red Wings visit the Buffalo Junior Sabres tonight (Monday) to begin their best-of-five opening round playoff series.

Game time is 6:30 p.m.

Game 4 (if necessary) is Saturday, 7:30 p.m. in Hamilton.

Game 5 (if necessary) is Sunday, 6:30 p.m. in Buffalo.

Red Wings’ home games are played at the Dave Andreychuk-Mountain Arena.

The Red Wings finished the OJHL regular season with 11 wins and 26 losses, good for the sixth and final playoff spot in the West Division while the Junior Sabres finished third with 20 wins and 21 losses.

Hamilton and Buffalo split the regular season with three wins each.

Two of the Red Wings’ wins and one of their losses came in overtime.

The other first-round playoff match-up sees fourth place Burlington take on fifth place Milton.

Georgetown Raiders and Oakville Blades, the first and second place clubs, get a bye through the first round.

The Raiders were also the league’s regular season champion.

Georgetown finished the season tied with North Division leader Newmarket with 79 points each but had one more overtime win than the Hurricanes.
