Paikin brothers feted

Steve and Jeff Paikin will be the honourees at the 2014 Jewish National Fund’s 62nd Negev Dinner, Sunday June 8, at the Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmen’s.

Steve Paikin is well known as the host of The Agenda with Steve Paikin, TVO’s current affairs show, while Jeff is a familiar face as the CEO of New Horizon Development Group and chair of the annual B’nai Brith Sports Celebrity Banquet. The brothers are being recognized for their commitment to their respective communities.

The Negev Dinner will feature a performance by the quintet The Canadian Brass, as well as an ensemble of the Hamilton All Star Jazz Band. Emcees for the evening will be Steve’s son Zach and Jeff’s daughter Natasha.

Funds raised from this year’s dinner will go toward a JNF Southern Ontario initiative of creating an outdoor sports complex in Mitzpe Ramon, a community in the central Negev. When completed, the complex will allow neighbourhood children, teens and college students to play a variety of sports in a safe environment.
