Mountain theatre troop presents Young Frankenstein

Shooting Star Theatre Company is presenting the musical comedy Young Frankenstein at its Mountain theatre.
The play, based on the Mel Brooks’ 1974 big-screen comedy, runs weekends from March 28 through April 13 at Dreamlight Studio, 230 Anchor Rd. unit 6. Tickets are $20 in advance; call 905-389-7827.
Shooting Star’s recounts the story of young Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, who follows in his late grandfather’s footsteps and brings a corpse to life. Things quickly take a turn for the worst in an explosion of comedy and chaos.
Artistic director Elisa Sorbara says the production remains faithful to the original moive, but will equally delight audiences who are unfamiliar with the comedy.
The cast is comprised entirely of local actors, including Chase Montgomery (Dr. Frankenstein), Dan Grieve (The Monster), Jeff Gordon (Igor), Elisa Sorbara (Inga), Kimberly Jonasson (Frau Blucher) and Robyn Deverett (Elizabeth). The production is directed by Sara Chappel, with music direction by Steve McRae and choreography by Katie Gorrie.
