Musicians Jen and Rob Slocumb, who have been known as the pop band Martha’s Trouble for the past 18 years, have decided it’s time for a change.

The duo is in the process of merging their music with their lifestyle under the label of Jen Coates. Coates is Slocumb’s maiden name. Besides music, Slocumb’s other passions include fashion, food and her children. She is in the process of creating a lifestyle website and blog that will encompass all of those, along with the music.

“When we talked about it, instead of switching band names or something like that, it would just be easier to have it under one umbrella and have more of a lifestyle brand then just music,” said Slocumb, who lived in Ancaster before moving to Alabama.

The lifestyle blog, along with the music, will be located at, which will launch in the next few weeks.

Martha’s Trouble performs locally on Sunday, July 27 at 7 p.m. at  the Coach & Lantern Upper Coach, 384 Wilson St. E. in Ancaster. Tickets are $10 at the door. For tickets or more info, call 905-304-7822.
