Emma Kolesar shows off the certificate she received from the Ontario Community Newspapers Association (OCNA) for being nominated as a Junior Citizen. The awards program recognizes young people who show a commitment to making life better for others, who have performed an heroic act, or who are contributing to their community while overcoming limitations. Emma is an Ancaster High School student involved with HOPE —High Schoolers Opening People’s Eyes — and the Ancaster Youth Activity Council. She has also volunteered at a local long-term care facility and the Ancaster Community Food Drive.
