The Hamilton Hindu Samaj Temple, 6297 Twenty Rd., and South Asian Heritage Association of Hamilton and Region are holding a multi-faith, multicultural “Healing Day” Sunday at 5 p.m. The event commemorates the arson that destroyed the temple following the terrorist attacks on the U.S. on Sept. 11, 2001. The arson was a case of mistaken identity; the perpetrators burned the Hindu temple thinking it was a Muslim mosque. Healing Day will be followed by a candlelight vigil and signing of a card of solidarity for the victims of the Wisconsin Gurudwara shooting in August.
