Tiffany Falls will be turned into a giant Christmas decoration tonight (Wednesday) from 7-8 p.m.

Half a billion candlewatts of Christmas

Tiffany Falls will be turned into a giant Christmas decoration Thursday night from 7-8 p.m.

The stream will be lit in red and the 21-metre-high falls will be flooded in green using 500 million candlewatts of power.

City of Waterfalls promoter Chris Ecklund says it’s his way of saying Merry Christmas to Hamilton.

Tiffany Falls is located at the Tiffany Falls Conservation Area in Ancaster. Take Highway 403 and exit at Main Street West. Keep driving until you pass University Plaza, then continue left on Main West, which becomes Wilson Street as you continue toward Ancaster. About half way up the escarpment, you will come across a small parking area labelled Tiffany Falls Conservation Area. From there, take the footpath that runs along the creek’s south bank.

(CORRECTION: Story originally misstated the event was Wednesday)
