St. Martin of Tours Catholic Elementary School held its first Sport-a-thon last Thursday.

Junior kindergarten to Grade 8 students participated in sport and physical endurance activities to raise funds for additional equipment for the school’s physical education and healthy living programs; students collected sponsorship money for different blocks of physical activity.

The event also was held in honour of Sports Day in Canada – a national celebration of sports at all levels.
