Dundas Little Theatre presents three plays during its 2013-14 season — Ghosts of 1812 by David Tysdale, The 39 Steps by Patrick Barlow, and August: Osage County by Tracy Letts.
With the support of the City of Hamilton, Ghosts of 1812 was commissioned by Dundas Little Theatre to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812.While on a cemetery ghost tour a young man is haunted by real phantoms from the past, giving him an unexpected insight into the War of 1812.
The 39 Steps, an uproarious comedy, was adapted by Patrick Barlow from John Buchan’s novel and Alfred Hitchcock’s film.
A cross between a juicy spy novel and the wit of Monty Python, The 39 Steps is a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre.
To close out the season, DLT presents the southern Ontario amateur debut of the Pulitzer-winning play, August: Osage County.
A vanished father, a pill-popping mother and three sisters harboring shady little secrets set the plot for this emotionally impacting play.
Ghosts of 1812 runs in late October and early November, The 39 Steps is slated for early 2014 and August: Osage County runs in April/May 2014.
