Judy Mintz, the executive director of Dundas Community Services, has been appointed as a commissioner to the Canadian Human Rights Commission.
The commission protects the principle of equal opportunity and promotes a vision of an inclusive society free from discrimination.
Over the course of her long career, which began in the department of social services in the Regional Municipality of Hamilton-Wentworth, Mintz has gathered experience working in legislative and regulatory processes, policies and compliance. She has served on several corporate, charitable and community organization boards, including the Government of Canada’s National Council of Welfare.
Mintz’s dedication to the community has earned her the Queen Elizabeth II Golden Jubilee Medal and a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow Award.
