A 21-year-old Hamilton man is facing drug charges after police discovered some marijuana in a car on the east Mountain.
Police were out watching for speeders on Redbury Street and Upper Ottawa around 9 a.m. on Tuesday when they observed a suspicious car driving west on Redbury.
The car was stopped on Queensbury Drive and a check by police found the driver had his license suspended.
Police also detected the odour of marijuana and found some pot and cash during a search of the vehicle.
Suspect was trying to sell stolen camera
A call to police from a central Mountain pawn shop led to the arrest of a 21-year-old city man.
Sometime between Monday night and early Tuesday morning a car parked on Doreen Court in the Mohawk Road-Upper Kenilworth area was broken into and an expensive camera was taken.
Police say the vehicle owner reported the theft to them and also alerted a pawn shop on Upper Wentworth to be on the look out for the stolen property.
Around 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday a man attempted to sell a camera at the pawn shop and store staff, believing the camera to be stolen, called police who arrested the suspect.
The camera was returned to its owner.
