
Game Five Saturday in Dundas

Several team leaders stepped up Thursday night on the road as the Dundas Blues beat Chippawa Riverhawks 5-2 to even their best of seven Niagara District Junior C hockey playoff series at two games apiece.
Derek Searle, Alex Pierobon, Kevin Jaczenko, Andrew Solow and Alex Aquin all scored goals at the Gale Centre in Niagara Falls to bring the opening round series back to Dundas all even. The Blues won two straight after losing the first two games of the series.
Mitch Moriarity, Aquin, Solow and Searle each had two points in the game, while Luke Scott, Garrett Incze, Brayden Knott, Dell, Jaczenko and Pierobon each contributed one point.Dundasbombarded the Chippawa net with 52 shots in the win.
General manager Steve Aglor described the win as a total team effort – and was glad to see the Blues get some of the bounces that went Chippawa’s way in the first two games.
“The guys worked hard last night and deserved the win,” Aglor said. “We continued on from the last five minutes and overtime of the previous game. It was good to see.”
He credited head coach Mike Christian for making necessary changes to get some life back into the team.
Game five is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at J.L. Grightmire Arena onMarket StreetinDundas.
With a dramatic overtime win Tuesday night, the Dundas Blues began clawing back in their best of seven Niagara District Junior C hockey first round playoff match-up with Chippawa.
Andrew Solow scored almost three minutes into overtime to giveDundastheir first win in the opening round. Mitch Reid and Braxton Andrews assisted on the winning goal.
Brayden Knott found the net with just 23 seconds left in regulation to tie the game at one goal apiece and force overtime. Knott’s shorthanded goal was assisted by Alex Aquin and Derek Searle.
The strong response came after Blues general manager Steve Aglor called on his players to step up and get back into the series.
