The seven musical groups of St. Paul’s United Church combine to present the fourth Musical Showcase, Friday, March 1, at 7 p.m.
The diverse program will include folk, rock, nostalgia, jazz, Broadway, classical and Gospel; familiar favourites and new music, ranging from the Muppets, Offenbach, Rogers and Hammerstein, to the Beatles, The Seekers, Jackie De Shannon, and Irving Berlin. The concert closes with a sing-along of Meredith Wilson’s famous 76 Trombones.
More than 65 people of all ages participate in the musical program at St. Paul’s, and participants come from both the congregation and wider community.
New for this year’s showcase will be the appearance of Boomwhackers, colourful, tuned vinyl tubes played by striking in a variety of ways.
All are invited to the concert. A freewill offering will be received for the St. Paul’s Operations Fund.
