The Ancaster Magic Major Atom girls basketball team won the Division 2 gold medal at the annual Blessed Sacrament Tournament.
The tournament, which is one of the largest in Ontario, involved 56 teams in seven divisions.
The Magic came into the tournament as underdogs, but with five straight wins over higher ranked teams, they emerged as Division 2 champions.
Parents and players would like to thank coaches Mike DiFederico and Stef Giovannangeli and manager Paulo Vigna.
The team would also like residents’ support in the Ford Drills and Skills Competition. This is a chance for the girls to attend a special training day with the Toronto Raptors. Visit https://raptors.forddrillsandskills.ca/ and select the Ancaster Magic Major Atom Girls.
