Ross Colborne from Dundas has won a 2012 gold medal for scoring the top mark in Ontario and Quebec on the Grade 7 guitar examination.

Ross, whose teacher is Steve Parton, received the award at Koerner Hall, the Royal Conservatory’s Telus Centre for Performance and Learning, on Sunday.

Regional gold medals are awarded each academic year to candidates who score at least 80 per cent on their practical examination and complete the theory examinations for their respective grade and discipline.
