The community of Ancaster will honour it shining stars at the 24th annual Ancaster Community Awards banquet.

The event takes place on Tuesday, April 9, starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Ancaster Mill.

In the running for the 24th Annual Citizen of the Year, presented by RBC Royal Bank, are John and Ellie Voortman and Bob Wilkins.

The 19th Volunteer of the Year, presented by Ancaster Mill, will go to one of four nominees — Mary Kate Alliston, Felicia Binotto, Rebecca Collings and Jennifer Wilson.
Nominees for the fourth Business of the Year, presented by Heritage Household Services, are Ancaster Cycle, Stephen J. Dunn Insurance, Ontario Dental Education Institute, Tapply Binet College.

Guest speaker for the evening will be Summer, Mortimer, 2012 Paralympian gold medalist. Tickets are $70, plus HST.
