Celebrate our nation’s musical legacy with Made In Canada

Theatre Ancaster’s upcoming original musical revue Made in Canada: 50 Years of Great Canadian Hits promises spectacular entertainment. It showcases Canadian music from The Diamonds and Paul Anka through top tunes by The Band and Bachman-Turner Overdrive to Neil Young, Stompin’ Tom, Lightfoot and The Stampeders and then to Parachute Club, Shania, Céline and the newest of Canada’s bright young stars.

The show opens April 12 and reserved tickets can be ordered from the box office beginning Monday, March 18, 905-304-SHOW.

“We have songs the audience will know and love, plus a few surprises,“ said Angela Broadley, Theatre Ancaster’s resident spring show choreographer. “Our singers and dancers are top-notch and versatile, which is really important as we hit disco, country, rock, lyric and hip hop.”

In addition to her role as choreographer, Broadley will be singing and dancing in the show. Carissa Bowerman, Jenn Cooper, Michele Greenway, and Danielle Pietra round out the talented dance corps.

Made in Canada is directed by Allison Osterman, with vocal direction by Ralf Hakenberg and musical direction by Colin Lapsley. Sam Frisk looks after the concert lighting while Al Croxall creates visuals behind the set constructed by Bob Penny and his team.

Made in Canada opens April 12 at 8 p.m., with additional evening performances April 13, 19, 20, 26, and 27 with Sunday matinee performances on April 14 and 28, both at 2 p.m. All performances will be held in the Theatre Auditorium at Ancaster High
