Almost 500 soccer fans from the Ancaster Soccer Club travelled to Toronto on July 12 to watch the Toronto FC beat the Houston Dynamo 4-2.
This year the Ancaster Soccer Club began an initiative to encourage its coaches, players and parents to enjoy and gain experience as a soccer community by attending a Toronto FC game. The soccer club was invited to be ambassadors at TFC Day, which allowed players on the field carrying flags, cheering in the fan tunnel and singing O Canada on the field with the players at the start of the game.
“It‘s an opportunity for the young players from ASC community to have a unique experience as well as enjoy the excitement of professional soccer,” said ASC president Stefano Girgenti. “Although it was the World Cup finals weekend, the Ancaster crowd was firmly focused on the TFC game and were not disappointed as the TFC came from behind to win while their Ancaster fans all joyously cheered and shared in their victory. ”
