Members of the Good Food Box project celebrated Christmas by packing the 3,500th Dundas Good Food Box.
Every month since January 2011, a team of volunteers has met to pack Good Food Boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables. The project has received donations from churches, business and individuals of almost $25,000 to pay for produce donated to the Salvation Army food bank. In addition, almost 1,900 boxes have been sold to the public.
Run by Dundas in Transition, the Good Food Box project is focused on learning about the sustainability of the food system and becoming more resilient as a community. For more information, go to www.dundasintransition.ca.
