The second annual Citizens’ New Years Levee is planned for New Year’s Day in front of City Hall.
Organizers call the event “a celebration of the New Year and civic engagement in Hamilton, acknowledging that citizens do not need the official blessing of municipal politicians to gather as a community.”
The first citizens’ levee was held last year by a group of Hamiltonians wishing to continue the community’s tradition of a meet-and-greet on New Year’s Day after the official levee to be held by Mayor Bob Bratina was cancelled.
Bratina will be holding his own levee from 1-3 p.m. New Year’s Day.
Tuesday’s citizens levee, which will include coffee, refreshments and live entertainment, runs 1-4 p.m.
