Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board has received financial support from the Ministry of Education for the new south secondary school and one new elementary school.
The capital funding will help construct a new secondary school at Upper Sherman and Rymal Road, scheduled to open in 2016, as well as a new elementary school in the Ancaster Meadow area, anticipated to open in the 2015-16 school year.
“We are thrilled with the news,” board chair Jessica Brennan said. “This is a significant investment that will help us create quality learning environments across HWDSB. Thanks to the ministry of education, we are moving closer to our goal of ensuring every student is learning in a great facility.”
